Rodolfo Sánchez Colberg
Co-Founder and Managing Member

Rodolfo is a co-founder and a Managing Member of PCM. His primary responsibilities include deal sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management. Rodolfo is a member of PCM’s Investment Committee.

Prior to founding PCM, he served as CEO and Managing Partner of Operating Partners Co, LLC (OPC) and affiliates, Puerto Rico’s largest distressed asset purchaser and servicer with more than 77 transactions closed and assets under management in excess of $3.3 billion. Through OPC, Rodolfo also led a number of transactions of distressed receivables portfolios and other special opportunities in Latin America and Europe.

Before joining OPC in 2006, Rodolfo held various positions within the Retail Banking Division of FirstBank Puerto Rico (NYSE: FBP), including Vice President of Consumer Risk Management.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Accepta, LLC. and is the Risk Capital sector chief of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP) team for Puerto Rico. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Instituto Psicopedagógico de Puerto Rico and is an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO). Rodolfo has a B.A. in Management and Information Systems from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.

He is an Investment Adviser Representative (Series 65 certified).

Luis M. Cabrera
Co-Founder and Managing Member

Luis is a co-founder and a Managing Member of PCM. His primary responsibilities include portfolio management, underwriting and investor relations. Luis is a member of PCM’s Investment Committee.

Prior to founding PCM, he served as Treasurer, Head of Corporate Development and Head of Investor Relations of EVERTEC Inc., (NYSE: EVTC), one of the largest payment processors in Latin America. Luis was a part of the Executive team that successfully completed an IPO followed by two secondary offerings raising over $1.5B in the capital markets.

Before joining EVERTEC, Luis was Special Advisor of EUROBANK. In that role, he assisted in the development of the business plan, capital plan, liquidity plan, financial models and other procedures to address regulatory deficiencies prior to the bank’s closure.

Before EUROBANK, Luis was Portfolio Manager at UBS for all of UBS PR’s open-end funds, money market fund and IRA Funds.

Prior to UBS, Luis spent 10 years at FirstBank Puerto Rico, (NYSE: FBP), among the top 50 Banks in the US. Luis was Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer & Treasurer, responsible for managing a $6B investment portfolio and a $5B derivatives portfolio.

He is a founding member of the Puerto Rico Investment Management Society and is a Member of the Board of Directors of Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital, Accepta LLC and Abartys Healthcare, LLC. Luis has a B.S. from University of Sacred Heart (USC).

José R. Otero
Managing Member

Jose, a seasoned financial executive with 23 years of experience, is a Managing Member of PCM. His primary responsibilities include finance and administration, portfolio management and underwriting. Jose is a member of PCM’s Investment Committee.

Before PCM, José was a proprietary trader and investor. Prior to that, he held various positions in Governor Luis G. Fortuño’s administration, namely Chief Advisor for Economic Development and Finance, Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Policy and Executive Vice President for Financing and Capital Markets for the Government Development Bank (GDB).

At the GDB, he oversaw all of the bank’s public, private and municipal financings, in all an $8.3 billion loan portfolio, and led 25 capital market transactions totaling over $17 billion. He also managed the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), a portfolio of over $1 billion dollars in senior loans and senior-loan guarantees to 17 properties and 2,700 hotel rooms/keys.

Prior to his public service experience, José was a Director of Institutional Investment Consulting at UBS and a Finance Manager at Guidant Corporation and Procter & Gamble.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Accepta, LLC., LINC Education, LLC. and the George & Raymond Frank Foundation, the governing body for Camp Kawanhee, a boys summer camp in Maine.

He has a B.S. in Economics with majors in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Stanford University.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Puerto Rico.

Maribel Ortiz-Castro, CFA
Managing Director-Portfolio Manager

Maribel joined PCM in 2017 as Director of Portfolio Management. Her primary responsibilities include portfolio management, underwriting and asset management of investment portfolios served by PCM.  Maribel is a member of PCM’s Investment Committee.

Before joining PCM, Maribel founded Insightful Consulting, LLC, an independent firm, focused on advising institutional investors, financial institutions and private equity funds in the areas of business analytics, risk management, business development and investments analysis.

Prior to her work as an independent advisor, she was Director of Valuation and Analytics for Operating Partners Co, LLC (OPC), leading the acquisitions of consumer and commercial distressed loans. During her years at OPC, she led the valuation and closing process of around 40 transactions, representing $1 billion in principal balance.

Maribel also worked for five years as an Investment Officer in the Treasury and Investments Department of FirstBank (NYSE: FBP), the second largest bank in Puerto Rico.

She earned a B.A. in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

She is an Investment Advisor Representative.

Wilnerys Alvarez-Rivera
Chief Compliance Officer and In-House Counsel

Wilnerys joined PCM in 2019 as Chief Compliance Officer and In-House counsel. Wilnerys is responsible for the firm’s compliance with all applicable laws, and the development and monitoring of policies, procedures and internal controls. She makes sure that the firm keeps in track with industry best practices. Additionally, she manages all of the firm’s legal matters.

Prior to PCM, Wilnerys was Chief of Staff of the Office of the COO, and previously Jr. Corporate Legal Counsel, at Americas Leading Finance, LLC, a subprime indirect auto lender/loan servicer.

Before Americas Leading Finance, she worked as an associate for a local law firm representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in different D&O liability cases against former directors of three failed banks in Puerto Rico.

Wilnerys holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Securities and Financial Regulation of Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor, Summa cum laude, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the US District Court, District of Puerto Rico, and is a notary public.

She is an Investment Adviser Representative (Series 65 certified).

Raúl A. Vázquez, CPA
Vice President – Portfolio Management

Raúl joined the firm as an analyst in 2019. He works on loan underwriting, analysis and valuation, due diligence and structuring, and asset management.

Before joining PCM, Raúl worked as a Financial Analyst in the SEC Reporting team at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (NASDAQ: BPOP). Prior to working at Banco Popular, he was an Associate in the Equity Derivatives Controllers and SEC Financial Reporting teams at Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), and part of the Controllership Development Program, a rotational leadership program at GE Capital.

Raúl earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Ana G. Mendez University, Gurabo Campus.

Raúl is a Certified Public Accountant and is an Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65 certified).

Luis M Lahoz Cintrón
Accounting Analyst

In his role as an Accounting Analyst, Luis holds a position within the financial team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. He is responsible for several tasks, including assisting in the preparation and review of essential financial information, reviewing month, quarter, and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and completeness, and applying accounting principles to analyze financial data. Additionally, Luis maintains relationships with external service providers, including Fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors, to facilitate operations. He supports the audit process, ensuring all deadlines are met, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is upheld.

Luis is an Accounting Analyst with a diverse range of experiences that showcase his expertise in financial analysis, internal auditing, general accounting, and forensic auditing. Before joining PCM, he served as an internal auditor at LUMA Energy LLC, where he specialized in developing, tracking, and providing recommendations on internal controls. He also worked at Evertec Inc. as an accountant, applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information among other general accounting tasks.

Luis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in Accounting and a master’s in Accountancy from the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón Campus, and Universidad Ana G. Méndez, Gurabo Campus, respectively.

Manuel E. Dox
Associate - Portfolio Management

Manuel joined the firm as Senior Analyst in 2020 with six years of experience in the finance industry. Under the Portfolio Management team, he is focused on loan underwriting, analysis & valuation, due diligence, and asset management.

Previously, Manuel worked at Omega Overseas Investments, a Puerto Rico-based family office with a diverse portfolio of publicly traded and alternative assets. Prior to this, Manuel worked three years in the equity capital markets division of HSBC, focusing on the execution of at-the-market offerings, follow-on offerings, buybacks and initial public offerings. Before this, Manuel worked in the equity capital markets division of Barclays.

He earned his B.Sc., in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from Babson College.

Michael Beauchamp
Operations Analyst

Michael has been with the firm since 2015. His main responsibilities include loan servicing, collections, account and payment management, and borrower relations.

Before PCM, Michael worked with Operating Partners Co, LLC (OPC) as Executive Assistant and HR Coordinator, assisting the Managing Partner, CEO, and COO of the company. He attended Atlantic College in Guaynabo, PR where his studies focused on graphic design.

Juan A. Crespo
Senior Associate – Asset Management

Juan joined the firm in 2021. He leads the commercial loan administration, servicing, and performance monitoring of investments.

Before joining PCM, he worked as an Asset Manager at Capital Crossing Puerto Rico, an underwriter and servicer of commercial real estate loans firm based in Boston, MA. He also worked at Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Investment Funds, a servicing and investment fund firm. Prior to this, he worked as a Relationship Commercial Officer on financial institutions such as Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (NASDAQ: BPOP), Scotiabank, and R-G Premier Bank.

Juan holds a Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) and a B.A. in Accounting, both from the University of Puerto Rico.

Verónica N. Alvarado, CPA
Accounting Manager

Verónica is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting, leading the month-end and year-end closings, analyzing financial data, performing cash reconciliations, and maintaining key performance metrics. She also oversees the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. Verónica ensures compliance with accounting policies and principles and the timely filing of all tax returns. Before joining PCM, she worked as an Assurance Senior Associate at PwC, where she specialized in auditing banking and capital markets clients. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey, obtaining Magna Cum Laude and highest GPA in Accounting. Veronica is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Puerto Rico.

Xavier E. Diaz
Analyst – Portfolio Management

Xavier joined the firm in June 2022, where he participated in an internship and upon completion of the program, accepted a full-time offer. He works with loan underwriting, credit analysis, market research and valuation.

Before joining PCM, he was a Business Analyst in the Mortgage Servicing division of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (NASDAQ: BPOP) after completing an Analytics & Machine Learning Trainee Program. He also worked as a Finance Intern at Grupo Ferré Rangel and the Puerto Rico Department of State. Additionally, he served as a Tax Associate for H&R Block (NYSE: HRB).

Xavier earned a B.B.A. in Economics, Finance, and Applied Statistics & currently pursues a M.A. in Economics, all from the University of Puerto Rico. While studying, he worked as a Research Assistant for various grants projects.

Leroy Maldonado
Sr. Analyst – Portfolio Management

Leroy joined the firm in October 2022. He works on the underwriting, valuation, due diligence, structuring and monitoring of investments in the portfolio.

Prior to joining PCM, he spent two years at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (NASDAQ: BPOP) structuring an aggregate of over $250MM in debt financing transactions. Leroy started his career in the Investment Banking division of Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), where he executed domestic and cross-border M&A and financing deals in the power and energy infrastructure space.

Leroy graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras with a BBA in Finance and is a Series 63 and Series 79 license holder.

Lesliebeth Balaguer
Analyst – Fund Management

Lesliebeth joined the firm in October 2022. She works with senior executives in the administration of PCM’s Series Funds. Her responsibilities include analysis and management of fund, investor & business reporting, policies, and processes. In addition, she works closely with the portfolio management team in certain investments.

Before joining PCM, she worked as an Administrator at SUMUM Servicios Financieros, Inc. She also worked as an Accountant in Puerto Rico Gifted School Alliance and as a Buyer at Albergue Olimpico.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras.

Gabriela Batista Rodríguez
Senior Analyst- Portfolio Management

Gabriela works on the underwriting, valuation and credit analysis of investment opportunities for the portfolio. Prior to joining PCM, she spent three years at Banco Popular (NASDAQ: BPOP) in the Corporate Credit Division, structuring an aggregate of over $500MM in debt financing transactions across a broad array of industries in the Puerto Rico market. Gabriela started her career in 2016 at the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) in New York City, where she executed domestic and cross-border (Latin America) M&A and leveraged financing deals in the Consumer Retail, Healthcare, and Telecommunication industries. Gabriela graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez with a Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in Finance.

Natasha Petrovich
Analyst- Compliance & Legal

Natasha joined PCM in 2023 as an Analyst for the Compliance and Legal Group. Natasha, along with the CCO, is responsible for the firm’s compliance with all applicable laws, and the development and monitoring of policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Prior to PCM, Natasha was a Compliance Officer for non-deposit products, specifically insurance and investment products/services, at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (“BPPR”) for 5 years.

Natasha holds a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, and a B.A. in Public Accounting, both from The Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. She is also admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Wigberto G. Lugo Santiago
Senior Analyst- Asset Management

Wigberto joined PCM in August 2023. He works under the commercial loan administration, servicing and performance monitoring of investments department.

Before joining PCM, he worked as a Senior Audit Associate at KPMG, an international public accounting firm, for four years. He also worked as an outsourcing accountant at Alvarado Tax & Business Advisors LLC, a local tax accounting firm based in Puerto Rico.

Wigberto earned a B.B.A in Accounting and Finance from the University of Puerto Rico. During his studies, participated in internships in the banking and law industry. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in Puerto Rico.
